Cable fault early warning and location system is to detect and locate faults in power system by using high-speed transient traveling wave technology. Compared with the traditional traveling wave signal, the high-speed transient traveling wave is characterized by its fast propagation speed and high frequency component. Based on the propagation speed and characteristics of traveling wave signal, this technology can determine the location and type of fault in power system by measuring and analyzing the arrival of traveling wave signal at different locations and times.
